Committees & Councils

  • Ambassadors/Greeters - the welcoming arm of the HBA keeps in touch with New Members throughout their first year and encourages their participation in the association.

  • Membership - Explores ways to help increase growth and retention through advertising/marketing campaigns.

  • Registered Builder/Remodeler - Reviews prospective Builder and/or Remodeler applications for membership for recommendation to the Board of Directors. Conciliates grievances involving Registered Builders, Registered Remodelers, suppliers and the general public

  • Education - Develops seminars and workshops of interest to the association's members.

  • Finance - Develops and reviews Association operational budgets, financial statements and reserve funds

  • Remodelers’ Issues - Develops programs (i.e. Tour of Remodeled Homes) and coordinates community projects to serve the remodeling industry.

  • Southern Counties Council---open to members in Gallatin, Grant, Owen and Carroll counties

  • Eastern Counties Council---open to members in Bracken, Mason, Fleming and Robertson counties


Home Shows

  • Cavalcade of Homes - Recruits participation and develops guidelines for scattered site home show

  • Site Advisory - Reviews show site submissions and participation policies for recommendation to the Executive Committee.

  • Site Operations -Assists with operations on site during single site shows.

  • Home & Remodeling Showcase---Identifies and recruits exhibitors, determines workshops and presenters for consumer show

     
Special Events

  • Summer Grill Out Operations – Reviews site plans and cooks the meal

  • Summer Grill Out Events - Organizes sporting events and other activities

  • Golf Outing - Coordinates the activities connected with the Outing - contact members for door prize contributions and helps staff the three courses the day of the outing.

  • Table Top Night - Plans TTN event, TTN sweepstakes sponsors & drawing and event set-up and tear-down

  • Events - Coordinates and plans membership meetings and events throughout the year.

 
Government/Public Affairs

  • State & Local Government - Determines initiatives to address growth - related issues, recommends positions on legislation and regulations.

  • Political Housing Club of No. Ky. - Funding of political candidates favorable to issues related to the housing industry. Member education of legislative process  and issues.

  • Building & Housing Codes - Monitors and recommends changes to building codes.  Meets with building code officials and liaisons with KY Board of Housing.
